Patriots - Dolphins DirecTV commercial

I laugh every time I see this. This pretty much nails New England sports fans. Someone on YouTube pointed out that this couldn't work with the Jets because there would be vandalism charges and jail time.

  1. Where's the insightful commentary on the game played October 3, 2010? The Patriots manned up for once, even though it was pretty much 100% special teams, it was nice to see a little bit of energy coming off of that tired troop of tripe.

  2. Due to my important working relationship with Barack Abdul-Ali in bringing the child killing industry in Florida to its painful demise, I've agreed not to taunt the Patriots' opponents. This was too embarrassing a loss to rub a life-long Dolphins fan's nose in. It would be like a Yankee fan showing up at an Operation Rescue event in Brookline, Massachusetts in 1988 with a Bucky Dent shirt. Okay, it wouldn't be quite that bad, but you get the idea.

And that is the difference between New England sports fans and New Yorkers, we have a degree of class. However small, it's still a degree. Yankees fans have no class. Not one drop.

I tell people from New York I am from Boston and they say: "I HATE the Red Sox!"

They have 27 World Championships and they still love to hate the one rival that has done that just twice since the Babe Ruth trade. David and Uriah come to mind.

I just saw the Twins go down 0-2, so I am in an ugly mood, don't mind me.

There are too many bizarre twists of irony in Boston this year for me to make any comments and predictions.

The Red Sox had half their starting lineup and their three best hitters on the injured list for much of the year. I've never seen any injury list that bad. They still managed to finish 6 games back with 89 wins. They did that while giving playing time to many of the Pawtucket players in the last week. In any other year, they would have had the wild card. It's not even bitter-sweet because they could not have won in the playoffs with half their starting line-up out.

The Pats come off of one of their greatest wins in recent memory and how do they respond? They trade one of the best receivers in NFL history. It makes sense to no one. It's as if they are saying: "We are 3-1 and probably have an even shot at the playoffs. Therefore, let's punt and look toward 2011."

The Celtics are the only team that has a shot right now -- mainly because they got Shaq. I can't believe I am saying that. I have to endorse that signing. It makes so much sense no matter how you look at it. But it's Shaq. I've always hated Shaq and now I have to root for him? No way!

Then there's the Bruins. They have something to prove this year after blowing a 3-0 lead in the quarter finals, right? I don't even want to go there. If someone put $1000 on the 2004 Red Sox and the 2010 Flyers to come back 0-3, they'd be a multi-millionaire. It would be on the level of winning the Lotto.
